Living On Campus A Great Option For Returning Students

With so many choices of where to live in Year 2, it is important for students to start thinking of all their options now. University Housing welcomes students to return to living on campus (either in the residence halls or Aggie Village) for the 2020 – 2021 school year.

Why Live On Campus Beyond The First Year?

A common misconception is that students only stay living on campus for their first year, when in reality more than 15% tend to return. Current hall residents get first choice of hall rooms for next year, including premium spaces specifically for returning students in Laurel Village Alpine, Aspen Hall, Parmelee 4th floor lofts, and single rooms. Hall residents are just minutes from classes and other on-campus amenities like the library and Rec Center, plus returning hall residents have the option to select from the regular meal plans, or the U Meal Plan, which is 5 meals per week, 20 bonus meals, and $150 RamCash.
More benefits of Living On Campus
  • Skip the commute: When it’s cold and snowy outside, students who live on campus can enjoy the luxury of sleeping in and still arriving to class on time without the hassle of scraping car windows, finding parking, biking on icy roads, or waiting at a cold bus stop.
  • Easy living: Forget the hassles of leases, splitting utility bills with roommates, shoveling sidewalks, and grocery shopping. The halls offer one bill that goes directly to student accounts with no negotiation required.
  • $0 due at signing: If students return to the halls, their deposit from this year carries over to next fall and there are no additional or hidden application fees, security deposits, or first/last month rent charges.
  • Success: Students who live on campus tend to have higher GPAs than their off-campus counterparts.
  • Priority in Aggie Village: Students who apply to live in the Aggie Village apartments, who will have lived in the halls for at least two years at the end of the spring semester, receive priority consideration. Aggie Village accepts applications year-round and we advise interested students to apply as soon as they can. It’s also a good idea for Aggie applicants to put in a backup application for the residence halls.
  • Incentive: All applicants will be entered into a drawing to win free residence hall room & board for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The residence hall returning student application is open Jan. 19 – March 31 at myhousing.colostate.edu. Students should be on the lookout for more details being sent home to permanent addresses, in hall mailboxes, and via email. Move information at https://housing.colostate.edu/housing/live-on/
