Fall Break Is Right Around The Corner – With Winter Break Not Far Behind!

By Sylvia Cranmer

The semester is flying by and Fall Break (November 19 – 27) is only a few weeks away – has your student made plans yet?

All residence halls will be open during Fall Break, however students must register to stay in the halls. The cost is $40 per day. Break dates are not calculated as part of regular room & board charges, so this helps offset the costs for staffing and operations. If your student plans to stay in the residence halls for all or part of the break, they must complete the Break Housing application, open now through noon on Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Residence halls will close at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, and reopen on Saturday, Nov. 26, at noon. For a checklist of what to do to prepare rooms for the break, visit  housing.colostate.edu/fall-break. Please be aware that e-scooters, e-bikes and e-boards are prohibited in our buildings.

Durrell Marketplace & Café will be open 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. November 19 – 23 and 26 (closed Nov. 24 and 25). The dining centers, other marketplaces, and GrubHub pick-up locations will close on Friday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. Students should consider getting a to-go container for a dinner meal when they are there during lunch. Meal swipes for on-campus residents will deactivate at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, and reactivate at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, when dining centers resume normal operating hours.

Make plans now and have your student register soon if they plan to stay on campus during the break. For more information, visit housing.colostate.edu/fall-break. Also, encourage students to attend their floor meetings for up-to-date information about Fall and Winter Breaks.
