My basic Mondays are much like any other day of the week:  I go to sleep Sunday night around 3:00 a.m. When it is time to rub my eyes and face the new day it about 10:30 a.m. or so; just enough time to hop out of bed, put on clothes, and rush out the door. I brush my teeth before I leave, so my breath does not stink up my classes.  I am in class from 11:00 a.m. to around 5:00 p.m. with Psychology, some more Psychology, Logic, and my favorite, choir.

By the time that 5:00 p.m. comes around I am hungry, so I usually give my friend Laura a call for a quick bite to eat at the dining hall. She usually says yes, so we go eat and chat about our days.  We also discuss what we have due that week to see who has a harder upcoming week.

When our stomachs are full, I run and take a shower to get ready for my Resident Hall Association (RHA) meeting at 6:30 p.m. I meet up with my fellow RHA senators and we drive over to the Lory Student Center for our meeting.  RHA is a student government organization that has a set budget to help improve the life in Residence Halls on campus. Resident Assistants (RAs) and other students on campus come and ask for money to do programs to help the students living in the Residence Halls. These meetings last from 2-3 hours.

After the meeting I am usually tired, so I go home and take a short nap. The reason I need a nap is because I work at the front desk in Summit Hall from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. This is not a big deal, but I do not recommend working a total of 22 hours a week while still trying to do well in your classes. But this is a good job to have on campus because it does not take much effort.  Mostly what I do at work is study.

After work I go to my comfortable bed and sleep.  I have it good because I do not have any morning classes, and I’ve noticed that most of my friends that have morning classes end up not going very often.

The number one thing that I’ve learned in my first year of college is that when everyone is telling you to “get involved” they have all the best intentions. Because I’m involved with only a few out of the many organizations at CSU, I hardly ever find myself bored and always have a sense of accomplishment.
